Massadah and Alumoth, ca. 1965. Bound in silver metal with elaborate carvings, in ill. cardboard box. Illustrated by, Arthur Szyk (1894-1951), a noted Polish-Jewish artist. Szyk's early work was done in Poland and France, but he moved to England just prior to the outbreak of WWII, and in 1940 he moved to the United States and was granted citizenship in 1948. Szyk's exuberant and colorful illustrations have become a classic in retelling the Exodus story. This edition is bound in a metal frame with faux turquoise and ornate design with torah and candles, scholars and ten smaller active scenes. Pages are doubled. Cond./Kwaliteit: Goed.
